I wanted to capture an authentic study abroad experience while also honoring my peers who become my new family for 100 days. I asked my friends to write me some pieces that addressed a facet of their abroad experience, and then I captured all of the film’s shots using only a smartphone and selfie stick. Out of 99 submissions, the film placed in the Top 3 at the IES Abroad Film Festival.
